My husband recently had to resort to alternative medicine for a recurring health issue that would need surgery and I suggested we try Dr. Tam Mateo's naturopathic program. I have attended his seminars several times in the past, and
my family knows him personally so I knew my husband will be in good hands. Dr. Tam's trained doctors make it clear that what they offer are holistic lifestyle and nutritional approaches to healing, and that prior consultation with a medical professional is best to thoroughly assess a patient's condition.
We reached his Pasig office by 2:30 pm on a Sunday and there were about 10 patients in the huge waiting room. The waiting wasn't bad, the room was huge and the seats comfortable, and the receptionists and doctors were nice. We decided to go to the seminar room while waiting. Unlike the seminars I attended 3 years and 5 years ago, the seminar is now conducted by one of Dr. Tam's trained doctors. We went back to the ground floor to buy food from his Vegan restaurant. Apart from the normal vegetarian fare (Rice and broccoli meal for P60) and vegan supplies (Vegan meat and brown rice), they now have vegetarian baked goods (Pan de coco and Spanish bread at P16 each), juices (Beet juice for P115 a bottle) and gluten-free products. We went back to the waiting room for the consultation.
A Dr. Ailyn assessed my husband. It took about 30 minutes for the full consultation. It was rather long, compared to most medical consultations, but we liked how thorough she was in explaining everything and asking questions about my husband's history and present condition. She recommended a strict vegan diet which I will discuss in a different post. The consultation fee is P300 and the complete medical package for my husband amounted to P15,500 consisting of a month's supply of about 9 different medicines.
Dr. Tam arrived at the office at about 3:30 pm. He took over the seminar and was just as lively and funny as he was in the past seminars. He is nowhere near the quiet, composed personality he is limited to be on TV. The seminar was free and there's free dinner afterwards. Dr. Tam also generously raffles off his products by the end of the seminars.
My husband is now 7 days along his program and he seems to be doing fine so far. He has lost weight - he had to get rid of a lot of harmful food from his diet. As far as his condition is concerned, we are yet to have his surgeon assess his ultrasound results.
Directions to Dr. Tam's Main Office in Maybunga, Pasig:
From Robinson's Galleria, take a cab to Ortigas Exit corner Jenny's (Jenny's Dampa or "Dampa sa Jenny's" - this is hard to miss. Be on the lookout for a wall painted with a "Jenny's" signage, right side of the street.) Tell the cab driver it's BEFORE reaching the Ortigas bridge. You're supposed to turn right at the corner to West Bank road. Turn right at Francisco Legaspi street (you'll pass by Pasig RAVE, Pasig City Science HS, Buddies Badminton Ctr and Parkwood Playschool.) Street people will tell you it's by the bridge.
We actually got off the cab by Jenny's and then took a tricycle until Francisco Legaspi corner for P9. We did not know it was still far so we decided to just walk. It took about 15 minutes of walking.

ReplyDeleteHe is better. Can't say it's all because of Dr. Tam but his methods and ideology generally help the body heal itself.
