DepEd's PEPT | Philippine Educational Placement Test | How To Register

PEPT or the Philippine Educational Placement Test is a standardized test administered by the Department of Education in the Philippines. The purpose of the test is to determine the readiness of students for higher education and to help guide them in choosing their career paths.

Who can take PEPT?

The PEPT is designed for out-of-school youth, dropouts, and those who did not finish their basic education. It is also available to those who have completed their elementary or secondary education but were not able to receive a diploma. The test is free and open to all Filipino citizens who meet the eligibility requirements.

It is also mostly utilized by homeschooling kids who wish to formalize their grade level especially upon returning to traditional schools.

What subjects are included in PEPT?

The test covers five subject areas: English, Mathematics, Science, Filipino, and Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies). It is designed to assess the knowledge and skills of students in these subject areas and to determine their readiness for higher education.

Where and when is PEPT administered?

The PEPT is administered in testing centers located throughout the Philippines. The test is usually administered twice a year, in April and October. Test takers are required to bring a valid ID and a completed application form on the day of the test.

What happens if a student fails PEPT?

The results of the PEPT are used to determine the educational placement of students. Those who pass the test are given a certificate of completion, which is equivalent to a diploma for the grade level passed. This certificate can be used to apply for higher education or to seek employment.

Those who do not pass the test are given chances for retake. One failed subject entitles a student to retake the same subject after 6 months to successfully qualify to the target level. Three failed subjects requires a complete retake of all 5 subjects 6 months after the first test.

Registration fee is P200. You can send the amount via door-to-door courier ONLY. No Gcash/Maya/Online Banking Transactions. DEPED PEPT requires cash to be sent to their physical location at the address:

What are the required documents for PEPT Registration?

  • registration form
  • scanned copy of the proof of payment
  • birth certificate (PSA/NSO/Local Civil Registrar)
  • recent 1x1 photo with name tag
  • academic records
    • for retake: Certificate of Results
    • for placement: SF10/F137 with school seal and signature of principal/registrar
    • if from non-DepEd accredited school: endorsement letter from Regional Office
    • for validation (no LRN): contact local DepEd Schools Division Office
